Leeds United owed half of Elia Caprile future sell-on fee
Leeds United are due to be paid half of the transfer fee for Elia Caprile if he ever leaves SC Bari of Italy, according to La Gazzetta Del Mezzogiorno.
The 21-year-old left the Whites this summer after playing a grand total of zero games for the senior team and only one Under-21s appearance during the 2020-21 season.
He spent the 2021-22 campaign on loan at Pro Patria in Italy and impressed enough for Bari to make Leeds an offer they couldn’t refuse with a handy clause inserted.

La Gazzetta Del Mezzogiorno claim that Caprile is now worth one million euros (£878,000) after a good start to the season and he could be priced at £5.2million next summer.
If the full price is earned by Bari, then Leeds United would receive half of that sum which would be £2.6million for a player they never saw as good enough to play for the senior team.
Daylight robbery
There might not be a bigger ‘if’ as the one regarding Caprile’s sale for £5.2million given he isn’t even playing in the top division of his country so that £2.6million is highly unlikely to ever make it into the account of Leeds United.
But he could easily make a big profit for Bari further down the line given that he is only 21 years of age with plenty of room to improve in the right environment.

Leeds thought that he could not make it as high as he needed to while at Thorp Arch and therefore opted to sell him for what La Gazzetta Del Mezzogiorno labelled as a “laughable” amount.
No matter what the Italian side get for Caprile, half of it is heading to Yorkshire regardless so it doesn’t necessarily make much of a difference to Jesse Marsch and Victor Orta right now.
It could be handy next summer when the search for new players begins again but that should be the last thing on anyone’s mind right now.
In other Leeds United news, Andy Goldstein has made a relegation claim about Marsch’s men as he decides between them and Aston Villa.
