Victor Orta meets Andoni Iraola as Leeds United may now revive manager push
Leeds United and Victor Orta could now look to revive a move for Rayo Vallecano boss Andoni Iraola, according to the Daily Mail.
The report claims that Iraola has always been Orta’s number one choice for the role and the Sporting Director flew to Madrid to meet him personally on 7 February.
Iraola is contracted at Rayo until the end of the season, however, Leeds United haven’t given up hope and are prepared to pay his £7million release clause.

“Sportsmail understands the Whites could now try and revive a move for Rayo Vallecano boss Andoni Iraola, despite that deal looking dead in the water on Wednesday night,” as quoted by the Daily Mail. (10 February)
“Leeds director of football Victor Orta’s first choice has always been Spaniard Iraola and he flew to Madrid to meet him on Tuesday.
“Rayo appeared to have blocked any hope of poaching Iraola, who is contracted until the end of the season and told Spanish media this week he would see his deal out.
“However, Leeds have not given up hope of prising the 40-year-old away and are prepared to pay his release clause of around £7million.”

Organised chaos?
Iraola has catapulted Rayo Vallecano from the second tier to surprise La Liga top-four contenders in the space of two-and-a-half years at the club.
And it’s his attacking philosophy and quick-based tactics that have obviously caught Orta’s eye in this one, with the Sporting Director evidently eager to land his signature.
Does Leeds United want more organised chaos within their squad? It’s a risky move, considering how the team has fared over the last two seasons.
Sorting out the team’s leaky defence needs to be the priority right now and this is ultimately what will save the club from relegation to the Championship.
Nevertheless, Whoever finally gets appointed as Leeds United manager will have a super-talented squad to mould and create within their picture and this is an exciting prospect for fans to mull over.
So come on Andrea Radrizanni and Orta, the clock is ticking and fans want to see some managerial movements in the next 48 hours.
