Leeds United now want to sign Los Angeles FC midfielder Jose Cifuentes this summer, according to Jeunes Footeux.
The online outlet has reported that the Whites have watched the Ecuadorian talent, who is described as one of the best players in the big-money MLS.
Napoli and Leicester are also said to be interested as a last-gasp transfer race is set to unfold with only three weeks to go in this summer window.
Cifuentes is under contract until December 2023, with time running out on his time in Los Angeles.
It looks as though a move to Europe is next in his career for the 23-year-old, who has already scored six goals and added seven assists from midfield.
The Ecuadorian international is said to be valued at around £5million too, so Jesse Marsch could raid his homeland for another bargain transfer between now and the deadline.

Bargain move.
The MLS may have all of the money in the world with big paycheques now being picked up by the likes of Gareth Bale and Georgino Chiellini at LAFC.
Cifuentes is the one catching the eye in that side though, and he may not be there for much longer given the mounting interest from numerous clubs.
The Ecuadorian international has three weeks to seal a move to Europe if he wants it, and with his contract running out quickly, there is a bargain to be had.
Leeds have already signed Tyler Adams and Marc Roca for the midfield, but should Mateusz Klich move on, we could see more movement on that front from Victor Orta.
Cifuentes has been watched, and we could be ready to pull the trigger at any point if needed – this is one to watch in the next three weeks.
All eyes are now on Los Angeles.
