Leeds United now want to sign Barcelona defender Oscar Mingueza, could help Raphinha deal – report

Leeds United are now very interested in Barcelona defender Oscar Mingueza, according to SPORT.

The Spanish outlet have even reported on their website that the Whites have already made contact regarding his availability.

Mingueza can play in the heart of defence as well as at right-back and could be used in a deal to send Raphinha the other way.

Leeds view Mingueza as someone with the ideal skill-set to play in the Premier League as they look to reinforce their squad.

Of course, it looks to hand the advantage back to Barcelona in their negotiations to sign Raphinha in the summer.

It is said that Barcelona even selling or loaning Mingueza to Elland Road would boost their chances of the “Raphinha operation.”

The Catalan giants were €40million (£33.3million) short with their first reported offer, and we highly doubt Mingueza is worth more than £10million given what we paid for Junior Firpo.

Laugh them off.

Victor Orta and Andrea Radrizzani are in a very strong position with Raphinha if Leeds manage to stay in the Premier League.

With a so-called release clause more than double what Barcelona offered for Raphinha, they will simply laugh off these measly, embarrassing bids.

Barcelona can tap up the winger and his agent, Deco all they like and get him wanting a move to the Nou Camp, but if they don’t pay the money, they can forget about it.

Mingueza would be a deal-sweetener for Leeds, but it would still require more than £50million on top of that to get it done.

Leeds are in charge here, and if Barcelona want their man, they are going to have to cough up the cash and make it worthwhile for the Whites.

In other Leeds United news, Andrea Radrizzani has broken his silence on Twitter sharing when he will leave the club
