Leeds United now likely to sanction exit of Leif Davis with new signing on way in
Leeds United are now likely to sanction the permanent exit of Leif Davis this summer, according to the East Anglian Daily Times.
The newspaper has reported on its website that Ipswich are still in the hunt with negotiations ongoing with the player still in Australia as things stand.
Leeds are set to rake in another seven-figures in the deal, but it will only happen once a new left-back is signed to cover the absence of Junior Firpo.

Writing in his latest column on Tuesday [19 July], Stuart Watson shared what is likely to happen in the coming days and weeks between the clubs.
“Town’s priority is to sign a striker and a left-back, with negotiations on-going for Leicester’s George Hirst and Leeds’ Leif Davis,” he wrote.
“It’s understood that Leeds are likely to sanction Davis’ exit, for a seven-figure fee, once they have replaced the injured Junior Firpo.”

On the way.
Phil Hay reported over the weekend that Jesse Marsch was still stuck in two minds over the future of Davis, so something must have changed since.
We expect that to be Victor Orta putting his foot down and identifying some names that could come in to start with more experience in the first-team once the Premier League gets underway.
Media Foot has reported on Tuesday [19 July] that Paris Saint-Germain defender Layvin Kurzawa has been offered to the Whites, as well as Everton with a move likely.
Firpo is still clearly the first choice under Marsch, but he may not play until September at the earliest, and Leeds have no other options behind Davis, who has not made a breakthrough at Elland Road.
With another seven-figures set to come flying in upon our return Australia, it won’t be long until another new signing is on the way to strengthen our options.
