Leeds United now in advanced talks with Sam Allardyce after sack decision

Leeds United have now entered advanced talks with Sam Allardyce over becoming their new manager, according to the Guardian on Tuesday 02 May.

The newspaper has reported on its website that the former England boss is set for a “surprise” return to management with his last role over two years ago.

Javi Gracia will report to Thorp Arch this morning to say his farewells to players and staff with the Leeds board locked in talks since the 4-1 defeat at Bournemouth.

Leeds and Allardyce are now in the final stages of talks already, and should they go as planned, he will become the third manager installed this season.

Big Sam will definitely see his first task as transforming the defence that has become nothing short of a joke under Gracia over the last month.

Manchester City, Newcastle, West Ham and Spurs are the four games remaining to save this season, so it will not be an easy role but one he is likely relishing.

Too late?

Andrea Radrizzani has pressed the panic button again it seems, with this just more proof that his own role at the club is becoming untenable.

The Italian accepted blame over the weekend, with the alarming crash since Marcelo Bielsa left the club simply embarrassing with all of that time wasted.

Despite that, it is others who are going to be sent on their way with Gracia potentially even followed by Victor Orta out of the club, news which has come out of nowhere.

Yes, fans will likely agree with that decision, but Radrizzani himself is another who many will want to see gone with the 49ers Enterprises taking over.

Of course, anything can happen in football so despite it being unlikely now, Leeds could remain in the Premier League, with a full restart needed this summer regardless.

The situation is getting desperate at Elland Road, let’s hope this all isn’t too late.
