Leeds United not in a financial position to keep Raphinha
Leeds United are not in the financial position to turn down a huge offer for Raphinha, according to a report in The Guardian.
They claim that the Whites might find it too hard to refuse a big bid for the Brazilian but could make a £50million-plus profit from his sale after a stunning start to the season.
The 24-year-old didn’t play on Saturday, and his absence made the Whites a lot worse; in fact, they only had three shots in the whole game, which is not something you would associate with a Marcelo Bielsa side.

Will Raphinha go?
This is an interesting claim from The Guardian, who seem to be suggesting that Leeds’ finances aren’t that healthy.
Now, they don’t provide any evidence of this, and in the last financial year, the Whites did make a loss of £62million but it has never been suggested that they are in any trouble [The Athletic].
If they are and this report is accurate, then you do worry about Raphinha’s long-term future at Elland Road.

He lit up the international stage for Brazil in the most recent international break, and you would imagine that more and more clubs are going to start registering their interest in him.
If the Whites are in a steady financial position, and this report is wrong, then we can see them being in a position to fight off any interest for a bit longer.
If not, then he could be away in January or next summer.
So, it will be intriguing to see if anything more develops from this story.
