Leeds United not close to appointing new manager despite Daniel Farke links – TalkSPORT

Leeds United are not close to appointing a new manager despite reports Daniel Farke is set to take over, according to talkSPORT (29 June).

Reports suggested that Farke was on the verge of taking over as boss at Elland Road after negotiations, with the German even visiting Thorp Arch ahead of his appointment.

But according to journalist Jason Bourne, sources close to the club are suggesting that nothing is imminent.

“Sources close to Leeds suggesting to talkSPORT they’re not close with an appointment of a head coach yet,” he wrote on his personal Twitter account.

“Daniel Farke is being heavily linked with the role today.”

Crazy

Surely there is no smoke without fire and the talk about Farke seems to be so loud from all corners of Elland Road.

This seems surprising that Leeds wouldn’t be close to an appointment at this stage considering pre-season is set to begin next week and the start of the new season is slowly creeping up on us.

Patrick Vieira was in the mix but he looks set to be going elsewhere, while Scott Parker’s name hasn’t come up in talks in a while leaving Farke as the only real candidate.

This smells like the club keeping an official stance that nothing is done until it’s done, and an official announcement hasn’t been made so they wouldn’t confirm anything either way.

But it would be a real shock at this point if Farke didn’t become the new Leeds boss for the upcoming Championship campaign and it’s a matter of time until that is confirmed.
