Leeds United Supporters’ Trust provides clarity as club release official statement
Leeds United Supporters’ Trust has provided clarity regarding the Huddersfield Town ticket situation after the club released a statement of its own on Monday (16 October).
The Whites announced on their official website that the tickets for the showdown with West Yorkshire rivals Huddersfield at Elland Road on 28 October are now priced at £20 for adults.
That comes on the back of Town chairman Kevin Nagle calling out Leeds last week after the tickets were originally priced at £47 for the same category.
However, as explained by the Supporters’ Trust on Twitter (16 October), the decision came down to Huddersfield agreeing to match the £20 offer for the reverse fixture at the John Smith’s Stadium in March.
“We have clarity from @LUFC that reciprocal pricing was offered for the Town game, as per what the club committed to this season,” the tweet read.
“Our understanding is @htafc were asking Leeds to lower our prices without agreeing anything in return which was understandably refused.”
The right decision
Huddersfield chief Nagle was quick to criticise Leeds over the ticket pricing, but he should have looked closer to home before pressing send on his tweet.
As has been the case for other home games this season, United have showed they are willing to offer tickets at a reasonable price should the offer be reciprocated.

Now that Huddersfield have agreed to also sell tickets to away fans for £20 later in the season, Leeds are willing to do likewise.
This is a situation that could have easily been avoided had the Terriers made it clear they would be willing to follow suit, rather than staying quiet.
As it is, this can only be considered a positive development for supporters, who can now pick up a ticket for what is a reasonable price.
In other Leeds United news, 49ers Enterprises appear to have made their first error in judgement since taking full control after a development 1,700 miles away.
