Sky Sports host shares Daniel Farke sack view at Leeds United amid ‘rumblings’
Sky Sports host David Prutton says suggestions Leeds United could do better than Daniel Farke are “rubbish”.
A number of supporters grew frustrated with Farke following back-to-back losses against Preston North End and West Brom last week.
United have since got their season back on track with a 3-0 win at home to Birmingham City, though, and Prutton has defended Farke’s record.

“If there were any rumblings from fans of ‘Farke out’ or anything then I would say that is rubbish really because he knows how to get a team promoted and it was only a month ago that he was being hailed for what he was doing on the touchline,” Prutton told the Yorkshire Evening Post [4 January].
“To get carried away from that point of view smacks of a bit of short-sightedness, I think.
“Looking at the table, I think the second spot is still attainable. I’m not really sure about first spot given what Leicester are doing which in theory Leicester should do. There were not many catastrophic ins and outs for them and they’ve got a very, very good squad.”
Still hope yet
The defeats to Preston and West Brom were very tough to take given second-place Ipswich Town were themselves stuttering at the same time.
Southampton have found some momentum and have now overtaken the Whites into third place, but the season is not over yet.
Farke’s aim this season was to earn promotion, and Leeds will have a serious shot at achieving that right until the end of the campaign.
If it is not via the automatic promotion spots, which admittedly is looking tough, then the play-offs provide a nice safety net.

Should Leeds miss out on the top two, it will not so much be the losses last week that cost them, but more so the very slow start to the campaign.
Farke has since managed to turn things around, and there is every hope he will do so again over the next few months.
Leeds have showed they can string together a winning run, which would very much be welcome now in order for Farke to get everyone back on side.
