Leeds United news round-up: Liverpool want Jaka Bijol as Anton Stach contract update emerges
Leeds United may still have plenty to focus on in the Premier League this season, but already speculation is starting to build ahead of the summer transfer window.
Leeds played out a 1-1 draw with Aston Villa at the weekend to move another step closer to top-flight safety.
Daniel Farke’s men still have 11 games to navigate, but the gap on the bottom three remains at six points.
Leeds’ transfer business will depend on entirely which division they are in come June, with wheels over some deals already potentially in motion.

Angus Kinnear shares points tally needed in new Leeds relegation reveal
Forty points is often the target cited by managers attempting to keep their clubs in the Premier League, but that tally is rarely ever required these days.

And in the view of former Leeds CEO Angus Kinnear, speaking to BBC’s Adam Pope, 36 points could be enough to avoid the drop.
Kinnear believes Leeds are well on their way to safety, with just five more points needed from 33 on offer to book another season of top-flight football.
For a reference point, just 26 points would have been enough to stay in the Premier League last season, although that was a record low.
Leeds United stance shared as Jaka Bijol linked with Liverpool
Jaka Bijol has been a key component in what has been a fine season for Farke’s season up to this point.
The defender joined from Udinese in the summer and has started 12 Premier League games so far this season.

Reports in Spain suggest Liverpool want to sign Bijol from Leeds ahead of next season to bolster their backline.
However, Leeds have no interest in selling and will not need to do so should they stay above the dotted line, as expected.
No plans to offer Anton Stach new contract at Elland Road
Anton Stach has been making the headlines this week after his Goal of the Season contender against Villa on Saturday.
The Germany international has now scored directly from three free-kicks in the Premier League this season, which is one short of Ian Harte’s record for the Whites in a single season.

Stach still has three years to run on his current deal in West Yorkshire.
And that is why Leeds are not currently considering a new deal for Stach, as they are not under pressure to sell anytime soon.
However, it would not be a surprise to see Leeds hold talks with a key member of Farke’s squad should he continue to impress.
