Leeds United news round-up: Daniel Farke sack odds assessed as Brendan Rodgers claim is made

Leeds United face a massive few weeks ahead of the festive period.

A downturn in form has seen calls for Daniel Farke to be sacked from Leeds amid relegation fears.

As a result, the West Yorkshire club’s hierarchy face one of the most important decisions of the season as the debate rages on whether they should stick or twist.

The 3-1 defeat to Nottingham Forest has seen many of the Elland Road faithful turn against their manager.

Now, MOT Leeds News has provided everything you need to know about the current situation.

Graham Smyth: Daniel Farke going nowhere

Despite many Leeds fans wanting Farke gone, this does not look to be happening any time soon.

The international break is often a great time to move a manager on as it gives the club two weeks to search for a replacement.

However, Smyth believes that Farke will stay at Leeds for the time being, claiming he’d be “stunned” if he were sacked after the Nottingham Forest result.

Speaking on the Square Ball Podcast on 10 November, Smyth said: “I wouldn’t be expecting it to be honest. I would be very surprised, stunned, in fact, if they made a change at this point. Just not the sense I’m getting. It’s not what we’re hearing.”

The journalist added: “It really wasn’t that long ago when they were giving Farke a lot of credit for adapting his style, and for a start that has still given them a point per game on average.”

Brendan Rodgers availability makes Farke ‘vulnerable’

One of the best managers on the market at the moment is Brendan Rodgers.

The former Liverpool and Celtic boss boasts a fantastic CV, last managing in the Premier League with Leicester.

However, since leaving Celtic in October, he has continuously been linked to jobs throughout the UK.

Now, Daily Mail journalist Ian Ladyman has insisted that Rodgers’ availability has made Farke “vulnerable” at Leeds.

He wrote: “Now we are eleven games in and Leeds are on a bit of a sticky run with only one win in six and games against Aston Villa, Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool to come the other side of the international break.”

“Farke doesn’t deserve the sack. Far from it. But that doesn’t mean he won’t get it. And the moment Rodgers left Celtic a couple of weeks ago, every manager in the lower half of the Premier League became a little more vulnerable.”

Tim Sherwood: Farke sack at Leeds inevitable

While Farke may not get the sack at Leeds anytime soon, many feel that it will come at some point this season.

One man who believes that Farke will be sacked by Leeds at some point is Tim Sherwood, who gave his take on the German’s future while speaking on Sky Sports News on Monday.

He said: “I do think we’ll see a change of manager at Leeds.

“I hope we don’t but it’s inevitable we will because they won’t win any of those next four games.”
