Joe Rodon shoulders blame for Bournemouth’s late equaliser against Leeds

Leeds’ 2-2 draw with Bournemouth on Saturday was an entertaining clash, with Leeds denied all three points after Eli Kroupi scored a 93rd-minute equaliser

Leeds will be disappointed for not hanging on to their lead and even more so that the goal came from a set-piece.

Joe Rodon was critical of his role in Bournemouth’s equaliser, having found the back of the net himself earlier on in the game.

“As an individual and defender, I look at myself first,” he said.

Rodon is one of the leaders in the Leeds dressing room, and his taking accountability like this will benefit the team as a whole.

Sean Longstaff responds to official Leeds post after Man of the Match performance

Sean Longstaff opened the scoring for Leeds at Elland Road, his first goal for the club since signing from Newcastle in the summer.

It was a brilliantly taken volley that sailed into the top corner, capping off a brilliant display from the midfielder.

Longstaff took to X to respond to his highlights video, posted by the official Leeds account.

He said: “Loved it out there and excited for another home game at Elland Road this weekend.”

Longstaff has been excellent at the start of the season, and Leeds fans will hope he can continue it for the rest of the year.

Simon Jordan critical of Dominic Calvert-Lewin for perfromance against Bournemouth

While a lot of the discussion after the Bournemouth game was around the poor defending around the equaliser, others decided to focus on the other end of the pitch.

Simon Jordan singled out the missed chances by Dominic Calvert-Lewin during the game, slamming the centre forward.

He said: “If he’d been a bit more clinical on Saturday, then you could have gotten a result and he’s going to be a key competent, Calvert-Lewin, if he can put his handbag down for once.”

Jordan has been a long-time critic of Calvert-Lewin, and he was more than happy to dig him out once more after Saturday.
