Liam Cooper sends four-word message to Joe Rodon after Leeds United win at Millwall

Leeds United captain Liam Cooper sent a four-word reply to Joe Rodon after his team-mate’s impressive display in the win at Millwall.

Rodon was solid at the back as Leeds kept a clean sheet in a well-earned 3-0 Championship win away to their fierce rivals.

Rodon took to Instagram after the game on Sunday [17 September] to post an image with the caption: “Incredible support today and important 3 points onto the next!”

Defensive partner Cooper replied with: “Love it joey boy!”

Keep it up

Cooper has been absent for Leeds because of injury, but Rodon has more then plugged the gap by helping Leeds to successive clean sheets.

The Tottenham loanee is already on course to becoming a fan favourite, as reflected by the other replies to his social media post.

Leeds will no doubt hope to land Rodon permanently at the end of the campaign, but it recently emerged that Spurs value him in excess of £10million [Phil Hay, 15 September].

All the Wales international can do is continue performing at the highest level and we will wait and see what happens at the end of the campaign.

With a game-high nine aerial duels won against Millwall – nobody else managed more than six [WhoScored] – Rodon is slowly proving that he is too good for Championship level.

If those performances result in Leeds earning promotion and Rodon returning to Spurs a first-team player, then everyone involved will be a winner.

In other Leeds United news, Daniel Farke hailed Rodon as a “warrior” after the win at The Den.
