Leeds United forward Joel Piroe gives verdict on Elland Road atmosphere
Joel Piroe has hailed the “amazing” atmosphere generated by supporters at Elland Road after quickly settling in at Leeds United.
The summer signing from Swansea City has scored five goals in his opening eight Championship matches for the Whites.
That includes the winning goal in the 2-1 win over Bristol City on Saturday (7 October) as he further endeared himself to Leeds fans.

Asked what he has made of playing at Elland Road so far, Piroe told LUTV, via the Yorkshire Evening Post (11 October): “I enjoy it very much.
“The energy from the crowd is amazing and we are winning our duels, winning games and that’s the most important thing.”
Solid start
Piroe is playing in a more reserved role just off striker Georginio Rutter, but that has not stopped him scoring at an impressive rate.
The Dutchman is a pure goalscorer and is on course to match or better the 19 and 22 league goals scored in the past two seasons with Swansea.
With a return of 0.69 goals per 90 minutes [FBref] – the 10th best in the division – Leeds appear to be in good hands with Piroe in attack.

Leeds fans certainly appreciate his work, even if the former Netherlands U20 international has had one or two quiet games so far.
Supporters will continue to get behind Piroe and the rest of the squad in the aim of making Elland Road a fortress.
After all, it is that home form that could well determine whether or not Leeds go straight back up to the Premier League.
In other Leeds United news, a Yorkshire Evening Post journalist has revealed where the Whites stand in terms of any interest in Kalvin Phillips.
