Leeds United news: Jean-Kevin Augustin will not be paid £24.5m after FIFA order

Leeds United will unlikely have to pay Jean-Kevin Augustin the full £24.5million figure that has been suggested, according to Kieran Maguire.

The finance expert admitted that fee would likely include bonuses from the deal over five years, meaning the fee would be lower if the appeal does not work out.

It has emerged that Leeds are confident of overturning the decision from FIFA, with the case set to end up at the Court of Arbitration for Sport once again.

Writing on his personal Twitter account, Maguire shared what he expects to come from the news on the suspected payout, which may be lower than first imagined.

“Leeds won’t end up paying £24.5m,” he wrote.

“That sum would include all potential bonuses over five years.”

Joke.

Someone needs investigating after this, with the transfer likely becoming the worst of all time in the history of football, never mind just Leeds United.

Victor Orta has had one too many of these deals backfire, with Angus Kinnear and Andrea Radrizzani also not getting off scot-free after their shoddy work too.

The 49ers Enterprises are discovering more and more bills that will likely fall onto them ahead of their expected full takeover in the summer, with a real overhaul of staff needed.

With the appeals process not exactly quick as we found out last year, it will likely not be decided until after the takeover goes through, with Leeds hopefully still in the Premier League.

If not, this fee, £24.5million or not will hurt the club hugely and will likely take away any transfer budget needed for a squad rebuild ahead of a possible promotion push again.

Hopefully, the Whites beat the drop and have a fresh start in the Premier League from the very top to the very bottom, wow that is needed.
