Daniel Farke tells misfiring Georginio Rutter the one solution to find Leeds United form
Daniel Farke has told Georginio Rutter that “hard work” is the only solution to getting his Leeds United career truly up and running.
Rutter has just one goal in 16 appearances for Leeds since joining for a club-record fee of £35.5million in January.
That price tag has not helped the Frenchman, but Farke is confident he will come good with time at Elland Road.
Asked if he has any advice for Rutter, Farke is quoted by Mirror Football‘s print edition [16 September, page 8] as saying: “There’s always just one solution: hard work.
“I was a striker, I had these spells, so sometimes you just have to watch a ball and the ball goes in and you can’t explain why and sometimes you find it difficult to use your chances.
“So during these periods, it’s always important not to feel sorry for yourself or to complain – it’s more about concentrating on working hard for the team and then the goals will come automatically, not just for Georgi but also like Joel Piroe, for example, for Patrick Bamford when he’s back, with Joe Gelhardt.”

Dream scenario
Rutter was recruited to score the goals that kept Leeds in the Premier League at the turn of the year, but he failed to find the net in 11 Premier League outings and United went down.
A season in the Championship was supposed to restore the 21-year-old’s confidence, yet that has not quite happened yet.
There has been the odd glimmer of real quality, not least when scoring against Ipswich Town in the 4-3 win on 26 August, but Rutter needs to start netting more consistently.
A big chance went begging in the goalless draw with Sheffield Wednesday two weeks ago that, had it gone in, would have changed the mood around Elland Road.
As it is, the Whites know they need a positive result against Millwall on Sunday [17 August] to start climbing the table.
A goal for Rutter and three valuable points at The Den really would be the dream scenario on Leeds’ return to action this weekend.
