Crysencio Summerville gives verdict on Leeds United supporters’ chant
Leeds United winger Crysencio Summerville says he finds it “special” having his own chant and has hailed supporters for their “crazy” celebrations.
Summerville has been one of the standout performers in the Championship this season, having scored six goals and assisted four in 12 matches, while he was voted Leeds’ Player of the Month for October.
Two of those goals came in a thrilling 3-2 comeback win at Norwich City, when he was serenaded by supporters at full-time with his own chant, as shared on social media by All Leeds TV [24 September].
Asked by Leeds’ official website [8 November] what his favourite moment has been this season, Summerville said: “The comeback against Norwich.
“The scenes in the away end were crazy. I’m just happy I could help the team with two goals, and then hearing my chant in the stadium – it was special.”
Cut inside and score
After a summer of uncertainty, and a fairly slow start to the 2023-24 campaign, Summerville has been a class above over the past month or so.
The Dutchman has been involved in eight goals in his past six outings, the highlight being his two goals and two assists in the first half against Huddersfield Town.

Even before that match, and the aforementioned double at Carrow Road, Summerville was already a favourite among Leeds fans, as proved by his catchy song.
There has inevitably been talk of him potentially moving on in January, but that will surely not be the case as long as United are in the automatic promotion picture.
And on the basis of his interview with the Leeds club site, it appears Summerville is loving his football at Elland Road right now.
With a bit of luck, supporters will see him – as the lyrics go – “cut inside and score for super Leeds” many more times this season and beyond.
