talkSPORT pundit Chris Iwelumo ‘disappointed’ with Leeds United display v Huddersfield Town
Chris Iwelumo has said Leeds United left him “disappointed” with their second-half performance against Huddersfield Town.
Leeds raced into a 4-0 half-time lead at Elland Road in Saturday’s (27 October) Championship contest in a scintillating opening 45 minutes.
Daniel Farke’s men could not match those levels after the restart – nor did they have to – as Huddersfield pulled one back to make it 4-1.

That is how the scoreline remained, but Iwelumo believes Leeds should have chased more goals in the second period.
Speaking in his role as co-commentator for talkSPORT after the match [28 October, 14:31], Iwelumo said: “I’ll be honest, I’m disappointed the way Leeds came out in the second half.
“They really took their foot off the pedal and allowed Huddersfield to create a few opportunities which they capitalised on.
“Daniel Farke, it’s an easy conversation to have. We said at half-time they have to go out, keep that energy, keep that intensity, and they never did that. It makes it a more difficult game.”
Masterclass
It is hard to remember a better first-half masterclass from Leeds than the one put on against Huddersfield at Elland Road.
Indeed, it is the first time they have led by that scoreline at the interval since April 1995 against Ipswich Town in the Premier League [LUFC Data].
Crysencio Summerville was the main man, scoring twice and assisting both of Daniel James’ strikes, which were very nicely taken.
It is not an exaggeration to say Leeds could easily have had a six-goal margin at the midway point given just how impressive they were.
The fact they dropped off in the second half is slightly frustrating, with supporters spending half-time discussing record scorelines.
But at the same time, Farke just wanted to remain professional, see the job through and give some key players a breather.
In that regard, it was very much job done. If any Leeds fan came away from that match feeling short changed, it is perhaps best they stay away.
In other Leeds United news, Farke possibly has a big problem on his hands after something that happened against Huddersfield.
