Leeds United news as Rangers boss Michael Beale issues transfer update on Glen Kamara
Rangers manager Michael Beale has issued an update on the future of Glen Kamara, who’s been linked with a move to Leeds United.
According to the BBC on Friday (25 August), who carry Beale’s quotes and mention Leeds’ interest, the Gers manager claims the Finland international, 27, is the closest to the exit door.
Last Word on Sports reported back in July that Kamara had already agreed on personal terms over a move to Elland Road with the price being the only thing that’s stopping the deal from going through.

Beale said, “Glen’s the one that’s closest. We had an honest conversation when I first came back into the club [in December] about Glen’s future and where he saw it.
“Ten out of the first 11 games I was here, he started. In that time, we signed Todd Cantwell and Nico Raskin, but they came in after not playing for a long period of time. They got in the team and did really, really well.
“So there’s been no fallout or anything. We were expecting Glen to move this summer – it was his wish as well. There are no issues with that. He has to obviously find the right club, it has to be the right valuation for everyone because we would be losing a very good player.”
Get this done?
Leeds seem to be taking their own sweet time with this deal and that suggests the lack of urgency about it.
Had they been more serious, things would’ve progressed as quickly as they did with the Joel Piroe deal.

Given how long he’s been linked, he should’ve already been playing for the Whites but that’s not happened.
Beale does not want to re-integrate him into the squad as he admits he’s going to be on his way out in no time.
However, unless they don’t get the money for him, they cannot sell him and the ball has been in Leeds’ court for over a month now.
Rangers may run out of patience and look to sell him for cheaper elsewhere if they feel that the Whites will not be making a bid soon.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites have now emerged as favourites to sign a Premier League player likened to Lionel Messi.
