Leeds United news as Jamie Carragher wants new manager announcement live on Sky Sports
Jamie Carragher has urged Leeds United to make a swift call on who their manager will be for their return to the Championship, live on Sky Sports following the finale of the Premier League season.
He was speaking, alongside Roy Keane and Micah Richards, at Goodison Park as Sky anchor David Jones led the discussion on what the relegated clubs need to do in order to return to the top flight.
Sam Allardyce’s position at the club going forward is very unlikely given the short-term remit that he was tasked with, but the ownership wrangle at the club will impact immediate football decisions, adding further uncertainty to the situation.

The Liverpool hero pointed to the urgent action taken by Southampton, in appointing Russell Martin as their head coach for the new campaign, and stressed that Leeds will need to respond accordingly, as featured on the Football Daily Twitter account.
“I think they’ve got to be really decisive and announce that in the next week or so,” he said.

Direction
The Whites will be a Championship club next season, but the confirmation of that on Sunday was little more than a formality.
Immediately, the focus will shift to what is happening in the boardroom regarding the ownership structure at the club.
It was understood that 49ers Enterprises had a deal in waiting if a Premier League stay was secured, but without that, a deal will need to be thrashed out with Andrea Radrizzani for the sale of his shares as both parties move to protect their interests.
Radrizzani will be aware that the price he can command has now reduced with the American entity obviously not wanting, or needing, to pay as much to assume full control.
Until that top-level issue is resolved, it is difficult to see how a key decision can be made on the manager position but that direction is sorely needed.
The weeks ahead will see plenty of headlines created by developments at Elland Road, on and off the pitch.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites want to sign one 13-goal forward this summer after an impressive European season.
