Leeds United news as Club Brugge make transfer decision on Pascal Struijk

Club Brugge have made their decision on whether or not to pursue the services of Leeds United defender Pascal Struijk, according to Voetbal Krant.

The Dutch media outlet reported on its website on Monday (4 September) that the centre-back has been on their radar in recent weeks.

However, ahead of the 11pm deadline on 6 September, they have decided to no longer pursue the services of the 24-year-old.

Good news

The last thing the Whites will have wanted would be another first-team player leaving without any replacement being signed.

Daniel Farke already will have been fuming over the nature of Luis Sinisterra’s exit as it looked like he will be staying put at Elland Road.

However, that wasn’t to be, and he ended up moving to Bournemouth on transfer deadline day.

It wasn’t all doom and gloom, however, as Jaidon Anthony came the other way, and an argument can be made, based on availability, that Leeds got the better end of the deal.

Should Struijk leave, it won’t be possible to sign a replacement so it’s good to see Brugge not taking their interest any further.

It remains to be seen how the 24-year-old proves to Farke that he deserves to be starting regularly and perhaps the international break has come at the right time for him.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites tabled multiple enquiries to sign a multi-million international winger ahead of the transfer deadline.
