Leeds United boss Daniel Farke is one of Neil Warnock's "favourite" managers and the Aberdeen coach has admitted that he would "love" to see the Whites win promotion this season.

Farke's side currently sit second in the Championship, two points clear of third-placed Southampton who have one game in hand, as they look to make an immediate return to the Premier League having been relegated from the top flight last season.

While Warnock has admitted that he thought the Whites were "poor" when they were relegated, the former Leeds manager has revealed that he hopes to see the "massive" club return to the Premier League this term.

Speaking on talkSPORT on Thursday (15 February, 8:55) he said: "I like Daniel as well. He's one of my favourite managers. I would love to see him do well there.

"They're massive, it would be good to see them back in because they were poor last time they were in (the Premier League)."

Can Daniel Farke lead Leeds to the Premier League?

Leeds United are now in an excellent position to win automatic promotion this season, with the recent unbeaten run under Farke ensuring that the Whites have well and truly moved ahead of the chasing pack at the top of the table.

Leicester City are almost nailed on winners already, with a lead of 12 points after 32 matches and that has left the Whites, Southampton and Ipswich Town to fight it out for second place, with Farke's side the current leaders.

Plenty of pundits and neutral supporters are now tipping Leeds to be the Championship's second-best side, with their recent run of form so perfect that they have almost seemed impossible to beat, especially when they're at their attacking best.

While Leeds's entire focus at the moment will be on making a return to top-flight football, they will also be hoping that they will be able to stay in the Premier League if they do win promotion this term.
