Leeds United narrow manager hunt as further interviews scheduled within days
Leeds United have narrowed their managerial search and are holding further interviews this week, according to The Yorkshire Evening Post.
It’s believed Carlos Corberan, Daniel Farke and Brenden Rodgers are the main candidates to replace Sam Allardyce in the Elland Road hot seat (Yorkshire Evening Post, 13 June).
Steven Gerrard was also believed to have been of interest however it’s understood the former Liverpool legend wasn’t on Angus Kinnear’s shortlist.

Getting there
It feels as if Leeds are getting there when it comes to their managerial search. Farke would probably be the most likely candidate at present. Particularly with his connection to Norwich City chief Stuart Webber – who has been linked with the vacant sporting director role.
It would be good to have some sort of continuity. They’re a pair who have achieved promotion from the Championship before – and that’s exactly what’s required at present.

An immediate return to the Premier League has to be the club’s main aim. The riches that are available in the top flight will turn the 49ers’ investment into an extremely astute one.
With the American enterprises now in charge, there’s an opportunity for Leeds to put the last 12 months behind them and return to the Premier League in a much healthier state.
Smart footballing decisions, clever recruitment and a little bit of luck will be required – but an immediate return cannot be ruled out.
