Leeds United must prioritise January swoop for Kai Wagner
Leeds United may turn to Philadelphia Union left-back Kai Wagner in the January transfer window amid a recent development.
The Athletic reported on Thursday (12 October) that sources had said that the 26-year-old is set to depart once his contract expires.
The Whites were linked with Wagner under Jesse Masch’s stewardship and he was widely known as the best left-back in the MLS.

Junior Firpo’s time at the club appears to be over as his injury record has been pretty appalling since he moved to Elland Road.
There were hopes that he’ll be the ideal player for Marcelo Bielsa and be an upgrade on Gjanni Alioski but that did not happen.
If there are any Spanish clubs looking to sign him in January, Daniel Farke is unlikely to stand in his way.
If Firpo leaves, Wagner will be the perfect replacement for him and it’s a move that Leeds could certainly consider.

Angus Kinnear is still at the club and he was around when the German was a legitimate transfer target at Elland Road.
Come January, if Leeds look like they’re in better shape to return to the top flight, and if Wagner is open to moving back to Europe, this certainly could end up happening.
He’s a two-way full-back in the sense that he’s capable of contributing in attack but also does not have any notable flaws on the defensive side of things.
He’ll certainly be an upgrade on Firpo and this needs to happen in January.
In other Leeds United news, Phil Hay claims that big European clubs have been keeping tabs on a Whites player for a while and are still willing to sign him.
