Leeds United must make move for Riqui Puig after Barcelona put midfielder for sale
Leeds United are in the market to strengthen a number of areas in the squad ahead of the next campaign and midfield is perhaps on top of that list.
One of the names the Whites should make a move for is Riqui Puig who is being put up for sale by Barcelona in the summer transfer window, according to ESPN.
Despite being just 22-year-old, the Spain U21 international has become one of the fan favourites at Camp Nou.

Therefore, as per the latest development, Puig is one of the 10 Barcelona players who are on the market.
The Catalan-based club had to reportedly make this decision due to the poor financial condition where they have to get rid of some key members.
Former Leeds manager Marcelo Bielsa was said to be a big fan of the midfielder and wanted to bring him to the club during his time at Elland Road.

Perfect fit
The biggest problem for Leeds in the 2021-22 season was the midfield as they were so open in the middle of the park which made their defensive unit vulnerable against formidable attacks.
The Whites conceded 79 goals in the entire Premier League season, second-highest behind relegated Norwich City.
After barely escaping relegation this season, Leeds must make a move to strengthen their midfield to make sure that they don’t put their Premier League status at risk once again.
If Puig joins the club, he can play alongside Kalvin Phillips in the middle of the park which would make the midfield look pretty decent.
The Matadepera-born maestro is good enough to press and can be responsible for creating chances for his side. He always has a great pass in him and also has the ability to dribble past opponents.
With attacking responsibility given to Puig, the Phillips role can be even more specific and Leeds will definitely look like a much better outfit.
Puig has played 57 matches for Barcelona across all competitions, scoring twice and providing three assists.
