Leeds United must aim another shot to sign Ola Aina in summer

Leeds United must reignite interest in Ola Aina in the summer transfer window.

Back in January, the Whites were linked with a move for the Torino defender, where it was claimed that the club won’t stand in his way if he decides to move on.

Toro News (January 10) reported that Leeds could secure a deal for him if they come up with a suitable offer, as he was no longer considered indispensable by the Serie A side.

Towards the end of the window, it became clear that Aina is set to stay (Toro.it) at the club, after Mohamed Fares suffered an ACL injury.

Whatever be it, the deal didn’t materialise in the end, and the two clubs couldn’t come to an agreement.

His situation hasn’t improved. Since returning from the African Cup of Nations, he hasn’t made a single appearance for the club, and he is now seeking a summer exit.

According to Calciomercato, he is unlikely to stay at the club, while the club’s technical director, Davide Vagnati is already at work to find a new home for the player, especially in England.

He has previously enjoyed spells at Fulham and is aware of English football.

Marcelo Bielsa appeared to have liked him, and Jesse Marsch should also take a look at him.

Luke Ayling has struggled with form and fitness this season, and a new right-back (wing-back) could be required in the summer.

Cody Drameh is obviously an option but the Nigerian would still be a terrific addition. The fact that he is seeking a move to England should encourage Leeds.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites can finally get rid of this “stinking” 29-year-old with a free transfer likely in the summer.
