Preview: Leeds United v Millwall – Team news, how to watch, prediction, lineups

Leeds United will be looking to get their Championship title bid back on track when they host Millwall on Wednesday.

The Whites still sit top of the table despite dropping points in each of their last two games, as they drew 1-1 with West Brom prior to Sunday’s 1-0 defeat at Portsmouth.

Leeds have invited pressure upon themselves with those results, as second place Sheffield United are level on points with Daniel Farke’s men, while third place Burnley are just two behind.

Farke and co still have every chance of landing a Premier League return and clinching the Championship title come the end of the season, but they will have to re-kindle their previously strong form when they take on Millwall.

Leeds United v Millwall preview

The Whites’ defeat at Portsmouth marked their first league loss since they were beaten 1-0 by Blackburn all the way back in November.

Before their draw with West Brom on Saturday 1 March, Leeds had enjoyed three consecutive victories, including back-to-back triumphs over promotion rivals Sheffield United and Sunderland.

A victory over Millwall would strengthen the Whites’ bid to return to the Premier League at the second time of asking, following relegation from the top-flight in 2023.

Meanwhile, the Lions can travel to West Yorkshire with some heart, having defeated Farke’s men in the FA Cup just last month.

A defeat to London rivals Crystal Palace followed for Millwall on 1 March, but they emerged victorious against Watford in the Championship last time out.

Alex Neil’s side sit 12th in the table, but still have an outside chance of finishing in the play-offs, as they are seven points adrift of sixth place West Brom with 10 games left to play.

Prediction: Leeds 2-0 Millwall

Leeds have endured two consecutive games without a win in the Championship now, which is something they must rectify as a place in next season’s Premier League is at stake.

If Farke’s men can find a similar gear to that of their wins over Sunderland and Sheffield United, they should prove too good for a usually resolute Millwall side to handle.

James and Manor Solomon will look to cause a threat in wide areas throughout the match and could be the key to victory once again.
