Leeds United midfielder Darko Gyabi in limbo after transfer deadline day development

Darko Gyabi is left in limbo after Leeds United failed to sanction his exit on transfer deadline day amid Swansea City interest, according to Wales Online.

The media outlet reported on its website on Tuesday (5 September) that there could be hurdles the 19-year-old has to overcome as he will not leave until January at the earliest.

Swansea looked to sign the former Manchester City starlet on loan on deadline day, but the deal did not end up going through and he stayed on at Elland Road.

Gyabi looked to be a signing on the cusp of making it into the first team last summer and there was hype surrounding bringing one of City’s finest prospects.

In all fairness to him, whenever he’s been given the chance, he’s proven his worth to the Whites.

The number of midfielders signed over the summer pushes him further down the pecking order so it’s surprising why they didn’t let him leave on loan.

Had he moved to Swansea, they would’ve given him more first-team minutes than Leeds are expected to.

If Daniel Farke believes Gyabi will get decent game time this season, then it’s a sensible decision to keep him.

The Championship season can be gruesome at times so having more bodies may not be the worst decision in the world.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites tabled multiple enquiries to sign a multi-million international winger ahead of the transfer deadline.
