Leeds midfielder admits to battling sickness in Whites recent winning run
Leeds United midfielder Mateusz Klich has admitted to battling a sickness bug during the Whites’ recent winning run.
In a recent interview on LUTV, the Polish international was discussing his personal form when Kalvin Phillips jokingly revealed that his teammate was sick.
Klich admitted that he wasn’t feeling his best and went on to joke with Ben Parker that he could do with a pillow during their interview.
Klich has been at the heart of everything in the recent Championship winning run for the Whites, illness or no illness.
The Polish international made his 84th consecutive Championship start for Leeds against Hull on Saturday, and despite battling illness his performance levels still haven’t dropped.
He scored the winner against Middlesbrough and assisted both of Tyler Roberts’ goals at the KCOM Stadium in the Yorkshire derby.
Klich is clearly central to Marcelo Bielsa’s plans at Elland Road, and he has been the standout figure in midfield in the absence of Kalvin Phillips this month.
After not being involved in a goal for 13 games in the Championship, the 29-year-old has since been involved in four goals in as many games.
His involvements go further than that though, Klich has actually completed 12 key passes in this winning run, after previously managing that number in the previous 11 outings [WhoScored].
Sick or not, Klich will be in the middle of the park against Huddersfield this Saturday as he is simply irreplaceable at this moment in time.
