Leeds United midfielder Adam Forshaw could be available v Crystal Palace

Leeds United could reportedly have Adam Forshaw returning to action when they take on Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Sunday.

According to injury expert Ben Dinnery on 6 October, the 30-year-old is targeting a return to action this weekend after being injured for spraining his ankle in training.

He has not yet been ruled out and he will be evaluated before a decision is made on his availability.

Another midfield option

Jesse Marsch has been picking Marc Roca and Tyler Adams in midfield and has brought Mateusz Klich off the bench on numerous occasions.

However, that change has been made to give him more going forward and sometimes if he needs to protect the lead, Forshaw is the ideal one to bring off the bench.

He’s energetic and extremely sound defensively which is important if Marsch wants to keep the opposing attackers at bay.

Forshaw certainly won’t be starting the game against Palace, but having him on the bench will be a boost in itself for the Whites.

He’ll slowly play his way to full fitness like Luke Ayling is and will give Marsch the option to rotate players with games coming thick and fast.

It’s also important that he’s not rushed into action and eased into it as players tend to relapse if there’s too much they’re expected to do once they’re back to fitness.
