Illan Meslier should be fit for Leeds United clash v Manchester City – Injury Expert
Leeds United goalkeeper Illan Meslier should be fit to face Manchester City when the West Yorkshire club return to action on 28 December, according to Injury Expert Ben Dinnery.
Glandular fever had stopped the Frenchman from training with Jesse Marsch’s squad recently and it was thought he may be out of action for the return of the Premier League.
Dinnery confessed that if the goalkeeper responds “really well” and progresses as hoped, there is little reason for him not to start against Manchester City.

“If it had been an outfield player, I would have been a little bit more concerned in terms of that absence from this core nucleus of mid-season training block as it were. Because he’s a goalkeeper, I’m not so worried,” said Dinnery as quoted by GIVEMESPORT.
“The expectation is if he does respond really well and progress as hoped, he should train up into gameweek 16, so train ahead of those festive fixtures. And as long as, like I said, he comes through that without any issues, then Meslier is a player that I would expect to be in that Leeds starting line-up.”

Key cog.
Meslier is a key cog in Marsch’s Leeds United side and will be needed to be back fit and firing if the club stand any chance of pushing on this season.
The Frenchman has been one of the team’s top performers this campaign and has rescued the Whites on numerous occasions from conceding petty goals.
He’s simply become one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League and it’s crazy to think the Frenchman is still only 22 years old.
And he’s an ever-present force within Marsch’s side too, featuring in all 14 Premier League games for Leeds United so far this season.
Signing him from Lorient back in 2020 for £5m seems like an absolute steal right now and it would be interesting to see what his price tag would be now.
The shot-stopper is a brilliant keeper, with luck, Dinnery’s injury expertise will be right on this one, the Whites don’t want to be lining up against a formidable City outfit without him.
In other Leeds United, 36 scouts recently showed up to watch multiple Leeds sensations with as many as four exits on the cards in the January transfer window.
