Leeds United medical staff mooted to green light transfer of Newcastle goalkeeper Karl Darlow – Injury Expert
We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at Leeds United...
Newcastle United goalkeeper Karl Darlow should not face any hindrances with the medical should Leeds United sign him, claims Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert reacts after the 32-year-old missed a large chunk of the 2022/23 campaign due to an ankle injury.
A few days after the summer window shut, the English keeper picked up an injury in training and did not return until March – after joining Hull City on transfer deadline day on loan.

According to the Athletic journalist Phil Hay [19 July], Darlow is high on Leeds’ priority list after they secured the signing of Ethan Ampadu.
Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said on Darlow, “It depends on the ankle injury specifics but one injury – unless it’s a big one – will mean no major alarm bells.
“Of course, the player would go through medicals and everything will be assessed before anything is signed but this should go through.“
Darlow became Hull’s first choice keeper from March onwards and his performances were erratic, to say the least.

In 10 league games, he managed to keep four clean sheets and along the way, he conceded four in a game against Sunderland and three against Middlesbrough.
He has been on Newcastle’s books since 2014 and has amassed close to a century of league appearances for them.
It seems like the Magpies are willing to part ways with the Englishman this summer on a permanent basis.
