Leeds United: Weston McKennie leaves Juventus game midway to complete transfer
Weston McKennie left the Serie A clash between Juventus and Monza midway through the game to fly to England to complete his Leeds United transfer, according to Corriere Dello Sport – 30 January, page 23.
Goal Juventus correspondence Romeo Agresti shared on 29 January a video showing McKennie at an airport in Turin ready to leave for England.
Now, Corriere Dello Sport shared that the American remained close to his Juventus teammates until the very end watching the first half of their game against Monza.

“Just during Juventus-Monza, he flew away, Weston McKennie, in the direction of the Premier. The American midfielder remained close to his team mates until the last minute,” as quoted by Corriere Dello Sport – 30 January, page 23.
“Even watching the first half of the match against Monza, to take off from the boxes shortly after 4.30 pm. Leeds awaits him, where he arrives on loan.”

Time will tell.
Time will tell whether or not the surprise signing of McKennie was a stroke of genius by the Leeds United hierarchy or a transfer blunder worth forgetting.
The American will need some time to settle into the harsh and frantic Premier League schedule but has all the tools to thrive in the English top flight.
Who will he replace in Leeds’ starting XI? This isn’t quite clear yet, but considering the fee paid and the lengths Leeds have gone to get him, it suggests he will be part of Jesse Marsch’s plans.
And this might be deserved, McKennie brings with him to Elland Road a heap of European experience, playing in the Bundesliga for Schalke and Serie A with Juve.
Marc Roca and Brenden Aaronson could be the players who should be worried about McKennies’ arrival with the duo’s spot in the midfield potentially up for grabs.
Everyone will be hoping that this is a transfer story to remember.
