Leeds United may have opportunity to sign Newcastle United forward Chris Wood

Leeds United may have the opportunity to sign Newcastle United forward Chris Wood, according to CBS journalist Ben Jacobs.

The Whites are certainly in the market for a new forward and Wood presents a slightly different option to what Jesse Marsch currently has in his ranks.

Jacobs confessed that whilst Leeds United may not want to sign Wood on a permanent deal they may still get the chance to sign him on loan.

“I wouldn’t rule out Chris Wood, former Leeds, of course. He’s not getting much game time at Newcastle United at the moment,” said Jacobs as quoted by GIVEMESPORT.

“Newcastle are still looking at goalscorers and creative-minded options. I don’t think Leeds would want to sign Wood on a permanent deal, but there might be a loan opportunity there, so that’s one to just keep an eye on.”

Forward reinforcements.

A new forward could bring a fresh perspective and new attacking options to the team and Wood presents a different kind of weapon than what the club already have.

Additionally, having a deep and talented group of forwards can be important for managing the workload and ensuring that the team has options in case of injuries or other absences.

With Patrick Bamford currently never here or there, the more forward’s and out and out goalscorers within the squad, the better.

Rodrigo has done a solid job this campaign but it’s unlikely he’ll be able to keep up this terrific pace and whilst Crysencio Summerville has also been providing goals, he isn’t the poacher fans crave.

Wood probably isn’t the player on every fan’s wish list but the fact he’s already Premier League proven and played for Leeds United before makes him a safe bet on a loan deal. Whether this deal would actually get done, however, is very much up in the air.
