Arsenal may prioritise Wolves attacker Pedro Neto over Cody Gakpo – leaving the path clear for Leeds United to make a move for the Dutchman.

According to former Eurosport journalist Dean Jones, the Gunners have the option of looking overseas but are likelier to pick the Premier League proven option.

Neto, appears to be heading out which means that Gakpo, who’s also on their radar will have one less suitor this summer.

Speaking on the Football Terrace, Jones said, “Cody Gakpo is one to look out for if Arsenal look abroad for this signing.

“If they look in the Premier League then Neto is definitely the ones being talked about a bit more [than Gakpo] and it’s starting to sound that he may actually leave in the summer.

“Arsenal have half an eye on him. If they were to add two more faces then it’s definitely going to be a forward [Neto’s role].

According to FootMercato, the 23-year-old could be heading to Elland Road this summer as he is admired by the Leeds hierarchy.

With big spenders Arsenal seemingly looking elsewhere, the Whites can now bring down the price for him.

Nottingham Forest appear to be interested too, but if Leeds make a formal offer for him, there’s a better chance he moves to Elland Road.

Although, whether or not they will still pursue his services, remains to be seen.

Their priorities are to sign a central striker to be an upgrade on Patrick Bamford as they struggled without a number nine last season.

While Gakpo can play as a number nine, he is at his prolific best when he’s played out wide, although he will not have a problem adapting to being the focal point should be signed.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites now have a clear run to sign a £20m-rated left-back as their Premier League rivals have now bowed out of the race.
