Leeds United may find it difficult to appoint Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou

Leeds United will reportedly face difficulties in their process to hire Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou as they eye Jesse Marsch’s successor.

According to talkSPORT journalist Alex Crook, Celtic may also demand a decent compensation if they are to part ways with the Greek-Australian manager.

Since his move to Scotland, he has amassed an 82 per cent win rate in the league for the defending SPFL champions.

Crook said on 7 February, “The vibe I’m getting is he doesn’t want to leave Celtic. I think he’d be a difficult one to get out of Celtic. He might cost a bit to get him out of Celtic too.”

Not needed

Postecoglou may be doing well at Celtic but the competition there is just one team and they’ve been average since Steven Gerrard left.

Giovanni van Bornckhorst was hired and sacked without really testing the Hoops at the summit and even this season, they’ve got a decent lead over their rivals.

We’ve seen managers like Brendan Rodgers and Gerrard leaving the SPFL for the Premier League as it is a step up in their careers.

If Postecoglou is happy to be in his comfort zone, Leeds must not try too hard to persuade him as he may not back himself to get them out of this mess.

Instead, the Whites must target managers who are on the rise, play a good brand of football and can quickly get a tune out of the current players.

This side is certainly a decent one that should not be getting relegated and they just need to right guidance to start turning their performances into wins.
