Leeds United could hand Wilfried Gnonto his debut as he may be named on the bench when they take on Fulham on Sunday.

After a disappointing result against Leicester City, Jesse Marsch will be looking to turn things around and may wield the axe on some of his senior players.

Gnonto, who played in the under-21s game against Middlesbrough on Saturday, came off at half-time, which could be indicative that Marsch may want to use him on Sunday.

After his deadline day move to Elland Road, there has been plenty of intrigue surrounding the Italy international who has been touted to make his senior debut.

However, he has been featuring for the reserves and has done well there which is an indicator that he could be ready for the first team.

Leeds have looked tepid and uninspiring in the final third and Gnonto may add that spark that they’ve been lacking.

Rodrigo and Patrick Bamford are both not playing at the level Marsch would want and if they’ve got someone pushing them for a starting berth, it could buoy them on to perform better as well.

This could very well be a must-win for the American and a loss could see things turn ugly for him and may even result in the board making the decision to part ways with him.

There were no warnings before sacking Marcelo Bielsa and surely the decision to let go of the Argentine would have been harder than what it will be with Marsch.

In other Leeds United news, a Sky Sports pundit has delivered Jesse Marsch’s “sack” verdict after what he heard this month.
