Leeds news round up: Struijk exit development amid £26m transfer update
Leeds United already have one eye on next season’s Premier League campaign as they sit top of the Championship table with nine games left to play.
Crucially, the Whites still have a five-point cushion between themselves and third-place Burnley despite the Clarets’ 2-1 win at Cardiff City on Tuesday.
Daniel Farke’s men are also three points clear of second place Sheffield United thanks to their victory over the Blades on Monday, 24 February.
While Leeds look set to compete in the Premier League next term, MOT Leeds News has rounded up the stories on 5 March.

Max Wober injury update made
Leeds defender Max Wober has not featured for the Whites since a 3-3 draw with Yorkshire rivals Hull City back in January courtesy of a knee injury.
Dr Rajpal Brar exclusively told MOT Leeds News when he thinks Wober could be making his return to action: “He’s had knee surgery but there isn’t much more information out there.
“It could be ligamentous – just to name a few options.
“Surgery would look different depending on those specifics.
“In terms of returning to 90 minutes, that will take a runway where he requires bounce minutes and consistent matches and he still seems a few more games away from making a first-team return.
“I don’t see him returning back to full fitness until mid April.”

Potential Tammy Abraham asking price emerges
Elsewhere, Leeds remain interested in Roma striker Tammy Abraham, who has struggled during his current loan spell with fellow Serie A side AC Milan, scoring just two goals in 21 league appearances for Sergio Conceicao’s men.
But he previously proved his goal scoring ability in the Premier League during his time with former club Chelsea, hence why Leeds have set their sights on Abraham but face competition from the likes of Everton, Nottingham Forest and West Ham.
TalkSPORT say Abraham has been valued at £26million, while TEAMtalk [5 March] have revealed that the England international is keen on making a top-flight return, while Leeds would have to bolster their forward line in order to stay afloat in the Premier League if they go on to win promotion.
Abraham stats | 2024/25 Serie A |
Appearances | 22 |
Goals | 2 |
Assists | 2 |
Feyenoord interested in signing Leeds defender
Meanwhile, Dutch outfit Feyenoord are interested in acquiring the services of Whites star Pascal Struijk, who has been pivotal for Farke and co this season.
Struijk’s defensive solidity is largely responsible for Leeds’ top of the league status in the Championship, but it is perhaps his ability in attacking areas which have caught the eye lately.
He was introduced to the action as a second half substitute during his side’s crunch clash with Sunderland last month, which the Whites initially trailed 1-0 courtesy of Wilson Isidor’s opener.
Somewhat surprisingly it was Struijk who turned the game on its head, as his brace secured a 2-1 victory for the Elland Road side.
But his increasingly impressive displays in West Yorkshire have caught the eye of Eredivisie giants Feyenoord, according to Football Transfers on 4 March.
However, Struijk’s current Leeds contract runs until the end of the 2026/27 season, and he could be tempted to stay with the Whites amid the prospect of Premier League football next term.
