Leeds United, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur send scouts for Strasbourg v Lyon

Leeds United, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur reportedly had scouts watching the Strasbourg v Lyon clash on Friday, 28 April.

According to Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna, apart from these sides, the likes of Manchester City, Bayern Munich, PSG and Borussia Dortmund also sent their representatives to perhaps track certain players.

Ligue 1, is one of Europe’s top five leagues and this was the only game that was played on a Friday night which could explain the number of scouts in attendance.

Via Twitter, Aouna wrote, “Beautiful people this evening to come and watch the Strasbourg-OL match.

“Several scouts from Juventus, Manchester City, Manchester United, Tottenham, PSG, Bayern Munich, Borussia Mönchengladbach, Dortmund, Frankfurt, Atletico Madrid, Leeds and Rennes are on site.”

Interesting

None of the players starting the game particularly seem like names that have been linked with the Whites in the past.

It could be that they’re just there to keep tabs on the league as a whole and there were some interesting prospects like young defender Castello Lukeba or midfielder Maxence Caqueret – both up-and-coming names in French football.

What’s more likely is that the club hierarchy are keeping their cards close to their chest and if few months down the line, someone from these two clubs is linked with a move to Elland Road, one can understand why.

Planning ahead of the transfer window is certainly important but Leeds need to realise that it’s all going to hinge on their Premier League status.

If they fail to stay up, the chances of them landing their desired targets also reduce drastically and it’s not going to be ideal for Victor Orta and co.

Hopefully, Javi Gracia can successfully manage to turn things around and secure two more wins that should be enough to keep them up.

In other Leeds United news, an exit-bound senior player was spotted in tears after what happened recently.
