Leeds United managerial target Andoni Iraola linked with Sevilla and Villarreal with Rayo Vallecano exit set

Leeds United managerial target Andoni Iraola will reportedly be leaving Rayo Vallecano at the end of the season and is already a man in demand.

According to Marca [27 May], he’s targeted by Sevilla and Villarreal and is also on the radar of two unnamed English clubs.

It’s been reported that Iraola is yet to make up his mind about what the future holds for him but is also not ruling out taking a sabbatical from the game.

Will he manage in the Championship?

Iraola’s stock is at a high and he’s being coveted by teams in Europe and perhaps Champions League next season.

For him to agree to join Leeds if they are in the Championship will take some convincing and everything will have to be perfect behind the scenes for him to consider it.

They would also have to make it worthwhile for him financially as he will be leaving Spain for a new country in the second tier.

It’s interesting to see which other English club(s) are keen on appointing him as he’s a manager on the rise and has been called “incredible” by La Liga expert Phil Kitromilides on talkSPORT (8 February, 10:20 am).

Leeds need to focus on staying up and once their fate is sealed they can then plan for whatever the next steps are for them.

Andrea Radrizzani may not even be the one calling the shots as an agreement has been in place with the San Francisco 49ers and it makes sense for them to decide.

In other Leeds United news, Phil Hay claims that an international player at Elland Road has no place at the club next season and a summer transfer is on the cards.
