Leeds United manager news: Sky Sports drop ‘breaking’ Carlos Corberan, Patrick Vieira and Daniel Farke update
Leeds United have not made an approach to West Brom boss Carlos Corberan to take over as manager at Elland Road, Sky Sports reports.
The Spaniard has been heavily linked since the season ended but while interviews are being carried out still this week he appears not to be in the immediate running.
Former Crystal Palace boss Patrick Vieira and two-time Championship title winner with Norwich Daniel Farke are names currently under consideration.
In an update live on Sky Sports News Rob Wotton said: “Let’s bring you some breaking news, Patrick Vieira is one of the names under consideration to become the new head coach of Leeds.
“Interviews are scheduled to take place this week with former Norwich boss Daniel Farke one of those said to meet the Elland Road hierarchy.
“West Brom boss Carlos Corberan has also been linked with the job but he is under contract at West Brom. No approach has been made at this stage.”

It is odd that Corberan has not been approached given his suitability for the role appears pretty high, so it would seem logical for the Leeds United hierarchy to at least check on the situation.
No doubt from West Brom’s point of view they wouldn’t like to make it easy, but the reported £2million release clause in his contract [Daily Mail, 19 June] should make it more a matter of convincing the former Thorp Arch coach himself.
Therefore perhaps he has made clear he intends to remain at The Hawthorns, as he did when linked to the job after Jesse Marsch’s sacking in February.

Farke’s name has been in the running for some time now and on the face of it looks like a logical option to turn to if a club wants to get out of the Championship.
The Whites’ links to Norwich’s departing sporting director Stuart Webber also give the appearance that the German might be the preferred choice, if Leeds plan to reunite them at Elland Road.
Vieira’s name was linked during the season, as Corberan’s was, but his name has only become public late on in the race to succeed Sam Allardyce.
An appointment needs to be made quickly as time is ticking down to when the players return for preseason on 2 July and there is a lot of work in and out to be done in the transfer market.
In other Leeds United news, one of the stars of the disappointing season is at the centre of ongoing transfer talks with another English club and he is happy to go.
