Leeds United manager news: Celtic update on Daniel Farke early setback for San Francisco 49ers

Leeds United appear all set to face a blow in their pursuit of hiring former Norwich City boss Daniel Farke as Celtic have upped the ante.

According to Sky Sports Florian Plettenberg on 10 June, the SPFL champions have opened talks with him as the German is ready to take over at a new club.

While Leeds have also held talks, managing in the Championship is not really an upgrade for him as he’s won the league twice already.

Plettenberg wrote on Twitter, “News Farke: Talks with Celtic. Celtic very interested in signing him as a replacement for Postecoglou. First talks took place. Next option: Leeds confirmed. But not advanced yet. Could change next week. Farke, ready to take over a new club now!”

This clearly shows that Leeds are not the first option and if Farke is wanted by Celtic, he is most likely to fancy a move there.

They’ll give him the chance to take over a team gunning for the title and in the Champions League while at Elland Road, things may not be so rosy.

He will have to oversee the departure of many first-team players due to relegation and will have a massive rebuilding job there.

The San Francisco 49ers are very likely to face their first managerial setback and it may be time for them to look elsewhere.

Farke has two Championship titles to his name as well as the Oberliga Westfalen and will fancy a move to Celtic Park.

In other Leeds United news, a BBC pundit has been left stunned as Phil Hay has dropped a fresh update on who the Whites are considering to bring in as manager this summer.
