Leeds United manager news as talks held today over shortlist – Yorkshire Evening Post
Leeds United will hold further talks over their shortlist of four managerial candidates on Friday 10 February, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.
The newspaper has reported [print edition, back page] that the club were exploring the possibility of bringing in Feyenoord boss Arne Slot, however, he confirmed he won’t be leaving the club.
The Yorkshire Evening Post confessed that Raya Vallecano manager Andoni Iraola can’t be ruled out of the race entirely despite the Spanish club’s eagerness to keep him.

“Manager-seeking Leeds United will have further talks over their shortlist of four today as they also explore the possibility of luring Feyenoord boss Arne Slot to the Premier League,” as quoted by the Yorkshire Evening Post. (back page, 10 February)
“The Whites suffered somewhat of a setback with Spanish candidate Andoni Iraola, whose La Liga club Rayo Vallecano are fiercely reluctant to lose him.
“If Iraola was to leave the Estadio de Vallecas it’s understood that he would be keen to avoid an acrimonious exit although Leeds don’t believe the 40-year-old can be ruled out of the race entirely. They also insist he was not the frontrunner, but one of a quartet of options being considered.”

Another one.
Leeds’ search for a new head coach has been tragic so far, three potential candidates have all given the Whites a figurative pie.
Iraola still seems to be debating a potential move to Elland Road though and this is a positive amongst the other misses with Corberan and now Slot.
Whoever the club choose to move forward with, it needs to be done sooner, rather than later and the fact nothing is signed, sealed and over the line yet is rather worrying.
From the candidates who have been touted and linked with the job thus far, it seems that an attacking philosophy is on the agenda.
This is something that a majority of fans will be happy with but it’s the Whites defensive frailties that have been laid far too bare in recent years.
Nevertheless, after a positive result at Old Trafford the rest of this week has been extremely frustrating, this weekend will be pivotal for Leeds United moving forward.
