Leeds United manager news as Steven Gerrard and Scott Parker not preferred choices for 49ers
Steven Gerrard and Scott Parker are said to be among the names on the managerial shortlist at Leeds United but are not the 49ers’ preferred candidates, according to Football League World.
Following the conclusion of the full takeover from the American investors at Elland Road, attention can now be placed on a crucial element of the Leeds rebuild, which is the vacant managers’ position.
Leeds United have been linked with several names as their search for a new appointment goes on, with former Aston Villa manager Steven Gerrard, West Brom coach Carlos Corberan and Scott Parker all currently targets for the vacant role.

And according to Football League World [12 June], the interview process has already started with Daniel Farke, Brendan Rodgers and Carlos Corberan all said to be the leading 49ers Enterprises targets for the role.
However, Gerrard and Park are not the 49ers’ top choices.
Parker still an ideal option
It’s only right that Leeds United are linked with several names for the managerial vacancy and the Whites still remain an attractive proposition for any mid-level coach willing to test themselves in the Championship.
And it’s easy to see why Gerrard isn’t the 49ers’ preferred candidate given his struggles at Aston Villa and lack of experience in the Championship which can prove a difficult standard for any manager. It’s a surprise to see Rodgers on the list as a result but his CV is certainly too promising to ignore.

Certainly, the Championship may prove an ideal route for the Liverpool legend to build up his managerial credentials again following his success with Rangers, but the pressure to succeed at Elland Road may prove too much for Gerrard.
Farke is a superb proposition given his Championship winning experience at this level, while Corberan because of his former experience with the club under Marcelo Bielsa, will always win the hearts of those within the club.
However, Parker must not be counted out either, after the terrific jobs he’s done at Fulham and Bournemouth and he would represent a sensible bet for the American investors to exploit should all else fail.
In other Leeds United news, doubts have emerged within the 49ers investment group over whether the Whites’ buy-out is the right move.
