Leeds United manager news as Phil Hay shares announcement latest at Elland Road
Leeds United are looking to finalise their managerial appointment this week, with candidates with Championship experience on the agenda, according to Phil Hay.
Following the conclusion of the full takeover from the American investors at Elland Road, attention can now be placed on a crucial element of the Leeds rebuild, which is the vacant managers’ position.
Leeds United have been linked with several names as their search for a new appointment goes on, with former Norwich City manager Daniel Farke, West Brom coach Carlos Corberan and Scott Parker all currently targets for the vacant role.

Football League World reported on 12 June, that the interview process has already started with Farke, Brendan Rodgers and Corberan all said to be the leading 49ers Enterprises targets for the role.
And Hay, writing in The Athletic [13 June] has revealed that the Whites are hoping to conclude and announce their preferred candidate this week, with the journalist also name-checking Parker given his Championship experience.
Enticing names
It’s only right that Leeds United are linked with several names for the managerial vacancy and the names being sounded out right now are ones which potentially give the Whites the best chance of a swift promotion.
Farke is a superb proposition given his Championship-winning experience with Norwich City at this level and his knack for an attractive and expansive brand for football which fans are desperate for, while Corberan because of his former experience with the club under Marcelo Bielsa, will always win the hearts of those within the club.

And Hay is right, Parker must not be counted out either, after the terrific jobs he’s done at Fulham and Bournemouth and he would represent a sensible bet for the American investors to exploit should they fail to acquire their preferred candidates for the role.
If Leeds United manage to get Brendan Rodgers in despite their Championship, that would be seen as a major coup given he is a candidate certainly ready to manage in the Premier League again before long.
It’s absolutely imperative that the 49ers get this next appointment right but the names being linked and courted for the role have already potentially given Leeds United a boost ahead of their rivals next season. We can’t wait to see who will be announced in the Elland Road hot seat.
In other Leeds United news, doubts have emerged within the 49ers investment group over whether the Whites’ buy-out is the right move.
