Ange Postecoglou given week off media at Celtic as Leeds United manager news drops – Sky Sports
Celtic boss Ange Postecouglou has been given the week off from media duties amidst growing links to Leeds United over the Whites vacant managerial job, according to Sky Sports.
The Daily Record reported on 9 February that Postecouglou was still firmly in the thoughts of the Leeds United hierarchy as Jesse Marsch’s replacement.
Despite this, Celtic assistant manager John Kennedy stood firm on Postecoglou’s position, claiming that the manager is building “something special” in Glasgow.

“The long-serving coach spoke ahead of Saturday’s Scottish Cup clash with St Mirren to give Postecoglou a week off and joked they had “just tied him to the chair upstairs and a put couple of security on his door,” as quoted by Sky Sports. (10 February)
“But the former Celtic defender reassured supporters their manager was fully committed.
“He’s in the middle of building something very special so I think his mind is firmly focused on being at Celtic and doing the best he can here.”

That guy.
Postecoglou is that guy and would be the ideal candidate to take over the reins from Marsch at Elland Road for Leeds United.
His exciting and progressive style of football has dominated the Scottish Premiership for Celtic and whilst the Premier League is another challenge altogether, it’s still no easy feat.
Convincing him to leave his project at Celtic though may be a tough ask, but the fact he is taking a week off from media duties suggests his head may be getting turned.
The Whites should at the very least test Postecoglou’s resolve with a tempting offer to join the ranks at Elland Road, who knows, this is what the Australian could be waiting for.
It’s now essential that a managerial appointment is made before the must-win clash against Everton on 18 February and the club need to get a move on in their efforts to do so.
Michael Skubala has done a fine job at steadying the ship thus far but even he will be aware that this team needs a more experienced head at the helm.
