Leeds United manager Jesse Marsch sends encouraging message to fans as Australia tour ends
Leeds United manager Jesse Marsch has vowed that “big things are on the horizon” after the club concluded their pre-season tour in Australia.
The Whites flew to the land down under on 9 July and have played three pre-season fixtures as they finalise preparations for the upcoming season.
However, the American has taken to Twitter to not only show his gratitude to the people of Australia but also excite Whites fans about the future of the club.
Writing on his personal account Marsch said: “Thank you Australia for a great two weeks.
“The team is working tirelessly every day to improve and grow.
“Big things are on the horizon!”
End of pre-season tour
The Australia pre-season tour ended as a successful trip for the Whites, who were able to pick up some decent results, give debuts to some new signings and gain some match fitness ahead of the new season.
They started the tour with a 2-1 win against A-League side Brisbane Roar on 14 July, then followed this result with a loss against Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa on 17 July, then concluded their two-week tour with a draw against Patrick Vieira’s Crystal Palace on 22 July.
There were some clear winners on this tour, with new signings Rasums Kristensen and Marc Roca being the main beneficiaries of the trip, making their debuts for the club and leaving good first impressions for Leeds fans.

However, Luis Sinnisterra was not as lucky as he suffered an unfortunate hamstring injury 10 minutes into his first start for the club against Crystal Palace.
That being said, the Whites return to England having won one, lost one and drawn one and can feel cautiously optimistic for the new season considering the transfer business they have done so far.
Their first Premier League game of the season will be away at Molineux against Wolves on 6 August, and they will be looking to put the icing on the cake in the market before that game to make sure they are completely ready for the challenges that lie ahead.
In other Leeds United news, the club are looking to convince Charles De Ketelaere to join the club.
