Leeds United man Liam Cooper wowed by Joe Gelhardt’s display v Wolves
Leeds United captain Liam Cooper has sent a tweet after a Joe Gelhardt was voted as Man of the Match on Saturday.
The 30-year-old tweeted on his personal Twitter account and indicated that the 19-year-old deservedly won the award and then threw a couple of fire emojis in there.
It has been a long time coming, but Saturday was finally the moment that Marcelo Bielsa decided to unleash Gelhardt for a prolonged period of time, and he made a huge difference.
Gelhardt changes the game.
The 19-year-old has been lighting it up for the club’s Under-23s for a long time now, and he was brilliant on Saturday.
He just looked free and confident and took players on and created openings that swung the game in Leeds’ favour.
Crucially, he also made a driving run that led to the Whites being awarded a penalty that Rodrigo slammed home.

Therefore, we are not surprised to see that he won Man of the Match, and Cooper deserves great credit for publicly supporting the forward.
Now, it is very early days, but if he plays like that for the first team going forward, then Gelhardt really could have a massive future at Elland Road ahead of him.
Bielsa has been saving him for a long time, but Saturday the 23rd of October 2021 could go down as a huge day in Gelhardt’s career with the Whites.
We look forward to seeing what he can produce next week.
