Leeds United man Ian Poveda has posted a picture after his operation
Leeds United winger Ian Poveda has posted an image on his Instagram story after his successful operation.
The 21-year-old who was on loan at Blackburn Rovers suffered the injury last weekend, and the former Manchester City man appears to have had a successful operation and his recovery period starts now.
Poveda had a quiet start to life at Ewood Park, but he had played in two of Rovers’ last three league games and contributed a goal and an assist.
However, he has damaged ligaments and broken his fibula and could be out for quite some time, which is a huge shame for Poveda [The Athletic].
The long road to recovery starts now.
The loan to Ewood Park was just starting to prove fruitful, and he was starting to make an impression on Tony Mowbray’s team.

However, that has been cruelly taken away, and we just have to hope that he can make a full recovery.
Any injury like that to multiple parts of the leg must be complicated, so the fact the operation went well is great news, and we can all now hope that he comes back stronger than ever.
Poveda has proven in the time that he has been with the Whites that he has some raw talent and pace, so hopefully, he loses none of that.
Marcelo Bielsa sent him a nice message during his press conference on Thursday, so the club are clearly behind him, and so are we.
This is a positive message from Poveda, so let us all hope that he makes a good recovery and comes back and starts contributing to the first team again.
